Pudsey strikes gold
We
arrived and Leicester Leisure Centre and met our old
friends and made a lot of new ones. The atmosphere was
buzzing in anticipation of a great day.
Jeanne Ansley swan her solo and struck gold proving she
is simply the best! Heba and Sarah also got gold with
their fabulous 80’s duet, which wowed the crowds. Cat
did a very dynamic solo using music from the Lion King
in anticipation for our show. Joelle and Cat swam the
best they have ever done and came fifth. Jeanne and
Anita’s extra training at Barnsley Synchro club paid off
– getting them a silver medal.
Jenny our newest member of the team fitted in perfectly
and we all loved swimming with her creating a strong
team of six which came 4th .
To be a
master, you have to be over 20 - and can be of any
ability.
We compete against others within age groups. The
competition involves both technical and free routines,
solos, duets, trios and teams. Technical routines are
only 90 seconds long with 4 different required elements
- walk out, porpoise, ballet leg combination and heron
thrust - with other bits in between. It can be as basic
or as difficult as you want to make it. (You wouldn't
believe how long a minute and a half could be...).
The day is a chance to see other masters from all over
the country do their stuff, make new friends see old
ones and win a few medals!
Well done masters you
have done Pudsey Pearls proud |
