well done to all swimmers who took part - for some it was the first time they had swum in a diving pit so deep - well done for being so brave.

Stars of the show

Joanne Larner has been working the beginners hard on Sunday night sessions at Pudsey and everyone saw the results at the club competition. Emily Ash, Isabel Homes, Sharlotte Walker and Olyvia Lister did exceptionally well swimming in a competition for the first time. They where given stiff competition from Madeleine Lingard and and Phoebe Weaver (from Sheila's club at Ilkley Grammar School) who achieved a gold medal for their fabulous 'singing in the rain' duet.

The Sheila Gooch trophy for outstanding achievement was presented to Evie Pedley, who all the coaches agreed had improved immensely in the last year. Next year, the trophy will be presented to the person whose score has improved the most. To be eligible you have taken part in both the 2006 and 2007 club competition. You will also be awarded points throughout the year for Attendance and Punctuality, Grades and Skill levels gained, and competitions and shows that you have represented the club in.
